Service with a :)

Image
Hey y'all!! This week was spring break out here in Arkansas & thankfully it went by pretty quick!! So we'll be back into our normal routine on campus this week.  Sister Miller makes everything fun! So while we struggled with finding & teaching this week, we did lots & lots of service (28 hours!!) & had a blast!! We went to the animal shelter of course (which is so much fun in the pouring rain😂), but we also did a service project as a district. All 15 of us missionaries went to this little farm & planted onions & kale for about 4 hours. The cool thing about the farm is that they donate 50% of what they grow to charities. It was a kinda cloudy & wet day, so we got pretty muddy, but it was so fun & so worth it!! I cut Sister Miller's hair!! She wanted it significantly shorter so I cut a good couple of inches off. That was one of the most stressful things ever😂 but I did not screw up her hair!! I did pretty good and it looks super c...

Birds Fly South!!

Image
Happy Monday y'all!! Sister Miller & I realized something pretty mind blowing this week. We saw a random flock of geese by a pond & Sister Miller said, "Why the heck are there so many geese here? They fly south for the winter... oh my gosh we're in the south!" I don't know if they mean Arkansas when they say "birds fly south for the winter", but I'm in the south & there are birds & it's winter so it all adds up to me😂 The highlight of our week happened on the way to Bentonville for zone conference. We had the car this week, so we took it through a car wash because the companionship with the cleanest car gets money. Well fast forward a few minutes, we were sitting the parking lot feeling pretty good about ourselves & looking cute. Elder Dike starts walking up to the car with a confused look on his face & says "Sisters, what did you do to the car?" We look & the casing of one of the side mirrors had c...

Arkansas Week 8

Image
Hey everyone! It's been another great week here in Arkansas👍 Although, its kinda creepy out when they test the tornado sirens every week. They're super loud & they make me feel like a character in a horror movie, like A Quiet Place or something (... which is a horrible movie btw). I think tornado season is coming up soon too, so that's cool.  We reached our goal of finding three new people this week! One of them is a student named Alex. He came & started talking to us at our booth on campus. He was super interested & wants to come to our bible study we do on Wednesday nights. It was also really cute & funny when he said, "My best friend is mormon. He's on one of those trips where you give up your phone for two years"...while Sister Miller was handing him her phone to put his number in. Good times. We still volunteer at the animal shelter for 10 hours a week & I love it! This week, we helped give a few of the dogs a bath. One o...

He put myself in jello again!

Hey y'all! What a week this has been. Sister Miller and I always think we're in for a short week after every long one, but that never seems to happen for us😂 So this week was long, but it was so so good! I'm halfway done training (woot woot!), so we had 6 week training on Tuesday. It's just an all day meeting for trainers and greenies run by President and Sister Strong. I got to see some of my MTC fam! Missed the rest of you in Arizona and Colorado!! 💓 Okay, get ready for this! It was probably the best part of my week. Elder Dike is our zone leader. He's serving in the YSA ward with us too. Sister Miller and I pran ked him by stealing his name tag and putting it in jello😏 That's right, just like Jim from The Office. I'd actually been planning to do it for weeks before, but I was finally able to snatch his nametag off his coat while he was in another room teaching a lesson. I could not have been more excited to present it to him at district coun...
