MTC Week 3

  • Hey everyone! I hope all is well outside of this MTC bubble I'm stuck in haha. I hit three weeks tomorrow and normally that's when we'd be leaving, but because of Christmas, I get to stay another week! I got my travel plans though, so I hope this next week flies by!

Being a Sister Training Leader is not that hard when there's three of you and only two other sister companionship's in the other district. But we're supposed to be getting two more districts tomorrow so that'll be fun.

Our TRCs have been going really well! We are getting way better at teaching and using the spirit. Or at least we thought we were haha. During our TRC yesterday, we sat down and my comp, Sister Beal, and I completely blanked what lesson we were supposed to teach. The Sister Beal forgot the girl's name during the prayer... oops. Sister Stockham kept looking to us for help, but all we could do was give her a blank stare back haha. It's okay though, practice makes perfect and its definitely a good thing we get another week of it haha.

Here's a funny/embarrassing story. On Sunday, during fast and testimony meeting, I was figiting with a rubber band and somehow accidentally shot it two rows forward. My comp, Sister Beal, and I could not hold in our laughs. Everyone kept looking at us. I was sitting next to the Branch Presidents wife when it happened so that's cool haha. We'll see how much longer our calling of STL lasts now. Good times.

Here's another one. I think my comps and I have been deprived of technology and social media for too long. Yesterday, my comp drew a picture/diagram of the Plan of Salvation for a lesson. Then she asked another sister, "Hey, do you like my photo?" We lost it for about 5 minutes it was so funny. We're also exhausted so its probably not even that funny haha.

Anyways, this week I was reading in Helamen for my personal Book of Mormon study. I love Helamen 5:12. It talks about how if we build our foundation on Christ, the devil will have no power over us. I know that's true. If we center our lives on Christ, He can be our rock and help us through anything. He is just waiting for us to come to Him in prayer.

Thanks for putting up with my dumb stories and supporting me anyways! I promise I'm learning too. Love and miss you all!
    Sister Emery Collins
